Norilsk, Leninskii prospectNorilsk is a city of brave people. If you decide to visit this city, it means you are a brave spirit. It is situated in the Far North in the Arctic on the 69th parallel. There is nothing around the city, only tundra with a huge amount of small lakes and bogs.

On the score of distance of Norilsk from other cities and absence of land communication, citizens call the rest of Russia “mainland”.

Moscow: then and now

Moscow was first mentioned in the records dated back to the year 1147. So it was founded more than eight centuries ago by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky. Historians have accepted the year 1147 as the start of Moscow’s history. At that time it was a small frontier post at the edge of Suzdal lands.
